Michael Macaluso
Michael J. Macaluso, AIA, FARA founder and principal of MJM+A Architects and the award winning design firm that bears his name, M.J. Macaluso & Associates Architects, is a licensed practitioner with more than 45 years of experience in the field of architecture and design. The firm continues to evolve and Michael is now the Managing Partner of MJM+A Architects PLLC in partnership with his long time associate Ryan P. Scipione, RA.
From the commencement of his career, Michael has meticulously crafted his business to address the needs of a wide variety of clients, giving himself and his team fluidity and flexibility not common among competing firms.
Ryan Scipione
Named partner to the firm in 2011, Ryan has been key member of MJM+A Architects since his arrival at the firm 21 years ago. With his cross-disciplinary experience he has proven himself on a multitude of diverse projects and is a leader in the technical development and management of some of the firm’s largest work. Building on his previous involvement as an architectural designer on residential, commercial and public projects throughout areas of New York, Connecticut, Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire, his experience with MJM+A Architects includes the management of large scale residential, commercial, institutional and hospitality construction throughout the tri-state area, as well as having led the firm’s Preservation and Restoration Division before moving onto the challenges of large scale building wide projects.
John J. Scheschareg
John J. Scheschareg, FARA, President of Oculus Consulting Group, is a graduate of the New York Institute of Technology and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture. He is an active member of the Society of American Registered Architects (SARA) and former President of the society’s New York Chapter (2003-2004), as well as a member of the Queens Chamber of Commerce (QCC).
Mr. Scheschareg received his fellowship from the Society of American Registered Architects in 2008. He is also the acting Vice President of the Architects Council of New York.
Valerie R. Costa
NY born and bred, Valerie is the latest associate to be named at MJM+A. Valerie came to the firm directly out of City College of Technology (CUNY) in 2012 where she received her BS in Architectural Technology.
Valerie’s reputation extends nationally with the Society of Registered Architects (SARA) as a member of the Board of Directors as well as Director on the Board of the New York Council of SARA (SARANY), assisting in event coordination and by promoting participation among young architects, associate architects, and students.
