Ryan Scipione, named partner to the firm in 2011, has been key member of MJM+A Architects since his arrival at the firm 21 years ago. With his cross-disciplinary experience he has proven himself on a multitude of diverse projects and is a leader in the technical development and management of some of the firm’s largest work. Building on his previous involvement as an architectural designer on residential, commercial and public projects throughout areas of New York, Connecticut, Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire, his experience with MJM+A Architects includes the management of large scale residential, commercial, institutional and hospitality construction throughout the tri-state area, as well as having led the firm’s Preservation and Restoration Division before moving onto the challenges of large scale building wide projects.
Mr. Scipione’s knowledge of construction documentation, industry practices and inclination towards on-site interaction affords him invaluable knowledge of building technology, both current and indicative of the city’s vast existing building stock. Though typically managing large scale developments these days, he can still often be seen on a suspended scaffold high above the streets of Manhattan guiding colleagues in a restoration project and gaining an intimate understanding of the eclectic facades that make up the city’s urban fabric. Working closely with Mr. Macaluso to guide the firm’s future in technical development and successful project management strategies, Ryan maintains relationships with some of the largest institutions and property managers in the city, and has established himself as a pivotal factor in the development of the firm’s work and staff.
With successful management and completion of multimillion dollar projects ranging from residential condominiums, boutique hotels, and historic exterior restorations, Mr. Scipione will no doubt continue his impressive work, maintain and expand his reputation to the list of ever growing satisfied owners and property managers throughout the five boroughs and help to keep MJM+A Architects a leader in the field of full service architectural practice.
Ryan’s other current success is that of fatherhood. When he’s not parenting or working, Ryan is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys climbing, hiking and biking, as well as snowboarding.
Ryan’s position as a partner in the firm is indicative of his dedication to his craft and the firm’s culture.
